In which the guy sees the girl in the lift and falls in love and later other stuff happens. I thought what if the whole story took place in the lift and that was the begining of LOVE IN THE LIFTS.

Sound

For sound and music our tutors got the Sound design students to join us. Steven Fleming, Jack Naylor, David Robertson worked with me. I gave them simple introductions that I only wanted music which represents what is happening on the screen, like a silent movie as this is what i thought would suit my film. The students produced it perfectly. They thought jazz music would be nice with insturments and other similar stuff.

Post Production

After rendering I had not much to do only to add a sky image in first and last scene. Also in the last scene, I had to make a sunset and gave a orange tint with a bit of feather effect for sun rays.

And to end I wanted to finish it to painting of the last frame. Which i was able to make by importing the image into freshpaint and just exporting it. this made the movie a lot better

This part was fun to do. It took over 4 weeks. According to first plan it was supposed to take over 2 Months at the speed of 4-5 seconds a day. While animating I did most of the referencing by acting it out as most of the animation was only walking or in facial expression. the only scene that i had difficulty was in the final scene with running sequence for which i referred the Animator's survival guide and Preston Blair's basics to animation. I also looked up videos on Lynda.com.

Background 1 - The Main Road.

This was the place where the film started and ended and a lot was there in the scene. I first looked at movies with scenes in big streets like Big Hero 6, Avengers(1&2), and Tv show White collar(which takes place in New York). After some research in google images I created a design. A road leading to down curve with tall Buildings on both sides and in the final scene a sunset exactly in between the buildings.

 

I started modelling with the road and ground layer for building. For the main building  where the story takes place I wanted a completely Glassed Design. I had seen some buildings like these before had knew exactly what i wanted. Before, making the other buildings I looked at some tall buildings in New York and London Via Google maps I got some ideas and using certain aspects of these buildings i modelled some buildings and duplicated it to fill the road.

To finish I added some street lights and trash bins in between buildings and some white lines in the street and a pedestrian crossing and some traffic lights to go with it.

Background 2 - The Ground floor.

First I looked at some pictures at office lobby and then looked at my script break down for the floor plans I had already made. It was simple four walls and a reception desk and a gift shop (which was important to the story line). For the colour scheme I went on make it look like a expensive or royal and mostly fancy style.

 

 

Background 3 - Lift.

They place where most of the film took place. I looked over google and from my memory of riding elevators for over a decade. Most usually have nothing special just 3 grey metal walls and door with a metal railing. I wanted to go a bit fancy & designed it differently with style with different texture for different parts like leather at the bottom, black metal for railings and yellow(goldish) metal for the top part.

Background 4 - Dream Park.

In one scene the Guy sees the Lady in a dreamish look and imagines her in between a cherry blossom thing making it look romantic. I wanted to Draw this BG instead of modelling it just for fun and have it different from the whole story.

I had looked at images of cherry blossom and had been to a friends engagement party which had a similar theme.
