Final Cut

This project was a bit difficult for me cause i tried too many new thing and couldn't get things together in time especially the water effects. I had to learn a lot about it and was difficult to get what I wanted. But somehow I finished the video. The animation is a bit bad cause i focused on modeling the characters and background more and had less time for animation and editing. Also some parts of the animation I had no i idea how it would look till the very end cause i dint have enough computer power.

The water effects was fun to do cause i got to make a lot cool looking effects when learning it and modeling the most fun i ever had. I'm thinking of going into character modelling than animation cause its fun and I can do lot of cool things cause I am a Genius.

Script

          SCENE 1                                      EXT.DARK POOL

          A man on a pedestal overlooking a dark pool which extends to

          everywhere. A spot light on the man who is dressed like a

          orchestra conductor,holding a wand in his right hand,

          standing on a pedestal surrounded 3 sides by fence.

                              MAN

                         (taps his wand on the fence)

                    Hmm Hmmmm

          Man waves the wand according to the music playing in the

          back and water springs up rhythmically to music and the hand

          movement. The water fountain show continues to the music and

          spot lights and lights from the below the pool decorate the

          water show.

          It continues till a voice

                              WOMAN

                         (with hatred)

                    Hello!!!

          the camera zooms to focus on woman, while the man in

          background a bit blurred.

          SCENE 2                                           EXT.PARK

          A small lake where the pool existed and a curved pathway

          around the pool. The man in casuals standing at a feeding

          point for fish. Woman in jogging attire a few feet behind

          him. She continues to her jog and exists frame.

          Man meanwhile in full spirit becomes sad turns around and

          starts walking.

          SCENE 3          CLOUDY WEATHER                EXT.MAIN ROAD

          A road with buildings & shops on both sides

          Man continues walking on the footpath. He stops for a second

          and sighs with sadness and suddenly it starts raining

          heavily.

          He sees towards the sky and

                              MAN

                         (with utter sadness screams)

                    Why me? WHY?

          Drenched sighs again and continues walking.

          A car with speed passes along him in the opposite direction

          simultaneously splashing muddy water on the Man. He tries to

          shake the muddy water off and sighs. After a second

          continues his walking.

          SCENE 4                                          INT.FLAT

          The door opens and the Man enters drenched and dirty

          SCENE 5                                       INT.BATHROOM

          The Man is in the shower with curtains closed. He leans on

          one side of the wall and starts crying.

          SCENE 6                                         INT.KITCHEN

          The man dressed in pyjamas goes towards the hob. he opens a

          cupboard and picks up a packet. he tries opening it. the

          packet rips apart and the contents fall all over the ground.

          In anger he kicks the bottom cupboard which causes a ripple

          and a open flour packet on top shelf falls on him, covering

          him in flour.

          He cleans up.

          SCENE 7                                         INT.BEDROOM

          He makes the bed and sleeps on it. His face his filled with

          sadness. after a few seconds of falling asleep his face is

          filled with happiness.

          pan zoom on to a dream cloud above his head.

          SCENE 8                                      EXT.BLACK VOI

          With a dreamy effect he continues his fountain orchestra

          which was interupted.

Idea

For my second year at university i had to make a 2 min film, for that we needed to pitch 3 ideas and pick one of them. Here is my 3 ideas.

THE FINAL MEET

SYNOPSIS

The idea is inspired by Anime. The idea is simple, It is just a battle between two old enemies which is over-exaggerated. The fight is filled hand to hand combat, weapons and magical powers…

THE VENDING MACHINE

SYNOPSIS

I wanted a humorous story, the story is of a guy in a (literally)corner office who goes to the vending machine and inserts a 10$ note in the machine it rejects it. He straightens it and inserts it again and rejects it….he tries of a few times but the machine still rejects he gets angry and does angry gestures. He tries of a few more times…after a while he starts banging his head hopelessly on the machine and the machine feels sad and accepts it. He picks up his food and turns around…the FBI agents crash through the windows and arrest him for using a fake note in a vending machine….and he looks comically shocked and drops the food he was holding….

THE FOUNTAIN ORCHESTRA

SYNOPSIS

A guy who is a Maestro (or Conductor) is conducting a Orchestra where instead of people playing instruments a water(or fountain) show. After about 40-45 seconds he is disturbed by a sound of a lady which brings the guy into reality where he is standing over a pond in park and the lady who was jogging continues her workout…he turns around and starts walking…on the way back home it starts raining heavily, he sighs looking towards the sky. A passing by car splash muddy water on him. He goes home takes a shower… He goes to the kitchen and starts cooking, opens a packet a packet and the contents spill on the ground. He gets angry and kicks the cupboard, which results in flour packet on the top shelf to fall on him. He cleans up and goes to bed sad…he closes his eyes and after a second a smile appears on his face…..and in his dream he continues playing his orchestra.

The group project was fun to do and the idea was a funny one to. The work I did was not much at last from the first planned which was more. I worked on the demonstration of the product. It was a simple 3-d model made in Maya and some particle effects in Maya. I used some images from google for reference of the throat

Final edit

After listening to and reading the audio, I understood that the audio is divided in to parts. The first part was talking about curiosity in general like curiosity in daily life its uses how to develop it. After doing some research, Curiosity is most commonly shown has a question mark “?”, also I found that a plant is found everywhere in homes, offices, around schools everywhere. So, I decided to portray curiosity as a plant in the form of question mark which makes it relatable. He tells how facts kill curiosity which I have shown as insects (facts) destroy the plant (curiosity).but later actually facts help curiosity i.e., water and fertilizers (facts) help grow plant (curiosity). In the end on first part he says creativity is the well spring of curiosity which I have shown as a multi coloured fruit grow from the plant.

In the second part he talks about curiosity in offices/ work places. He first says technology take over the human work which is best fit as assembly line, where machines take over human work which is happening as we speak. Next he talks about people working with curiosity and later working together. I have shown that in the same way. In final he speaks about achieving success which is 90% of time shown as climbing the ladder of stairs and I have shown as people reaching the top and of the success.
